1. Add the domain in Sellxora
Ecommerce: Open your store, go to the store settings/edit screen, and enter the custom domain.\n\nLanding Page: Open the landing page settings and enter the custom domain.\n\nEnter the complete hostname, for example www.example.com. Do not enter only example.com.
2. Create the DNS record
Sign in to the company where your domain DNS is managed. Create a CNAME record for the same subdomain.\n\nExample:\n- Host/Name: www\n- Type: CNAME\n- Target/Value: customers.sellxora.com\n\nIf you use shop.example.com, the host/name is normally shop.
Do not point the domain to a Sellxora server IP and do not replace the CNAME with an A record. Use the CNAME target displayed by Sellxora.
3. Wait for verification
Return to Sellxora and open the domain status. You can select Check Now to request an immediate check. Sellxora also checks pending domains automatically, so you do not need to keep clicking the button.
The domain is ready when the hostname, DNS, and SSL checks have completed. HTTPS is provisioned automatically; you do not need to purchase or install a separate SSL certificate for this setup.
Changing an existing custom domain
If your store or landing page already has a working custom domain, Sellxora keeps the current domain live while the new domain is being validated. After the new domain is ready, Sellxora switches the site to the new domain and retires the old connection.
Important limitation
The current standard custom-domain setup supports subdomains, not root/apex domains. Use www.example.com, shop.example.com, or another subdomain instead of example.com.
Common questions
Do I need to buy SSL? No. HTTPS is handled automatically after validation.\n\nDo I need to change my web hosting? No. You only need to add the DNS record at the provider that manages your domain.\n\nWhat if the status is still pending? Confirm that the CNAME name and target exactly match the instructions in Sellxora, then allow DNS changes to propagate.\n\nCan I use the same domain for another Sellxora store? No. A custom hostname can only belong to one Sellxora resource at a time.
