Troubleshoot images, videos, and uploaded assets

Check ownership, file type, upload completion, editor references, and publication state when media is missing.

Version 1Last reviewed 24 Sep 2026
When an image or video does not appear, first confirm that the upload completed and that the current workspace owns the asset. Then confirm the editor or product references the uploaded item instead of an old local path or invalid URL.

Preview the page or product after saving, then verify the public version. Clear only the relevant browser or application cache when necessary. Avoid uploading sensitive documents to diagnose a public media issue.

Common questions

Why is the upload control present but the asset does not render? Check file type, size, upload result, object-storage configuration, ownership, and the page’s saved state. Why does it work in the editor but not publicly? Check publication, URL generation, permissions, and whether the public template loads the asset field.

Steps

  1. Retry with a supported file type and reasonable size.
  2. Confirm the upload response and the asset’s workspace ownership.
  3. Save the editor or product after selecting the asset.
  4. Preview and verify the published or public URL.
  5. Report the safe file name and route—not private file contents—if the issue remains.
